Applications in the given prescribed format are invited from eligible persons, District of
South 24 Parganas of West Bengal for engagement of Halt Contractor for selling of
tickets on prescribed Commission basis for 05 (five) years at Gaurdaha Halt station in
between Ghutiari Shariff & Piali stations under Sealdah Division of Eastern Railway.

From 03.10.2023 to 18.10.2023 between 11:00 hours to 16:00 hours on every working
day & on 19.10.2023 up to 14: 00 hours.
DATE OF OPENING OF APPLICATION BOX:
19. 10. 2023 at 14:30 Hours.

years for selling of tickets on prescribed Commission basis at Gaurdaha Halt station in

Last Date & Time for submission of application: 19.10.2023 up to 14:00 hours.
Date & Time for opening of application: 19.10.2023 at 14.30 hours.
TERMS & CONDITIONS:
1) The applicant should be a local resident of the District of South 24 Parganas
of West Bengal in which the Halt station is located. For this, the copy of Aadhar
Card or Voter Identity Card or Passport must be submitted along with the
application.
2) The applicant should not be below 18 years of age as on date. For this, the copy
of age proof document (Secondary Admit Card) must be submitted along with
the application.
3) The applicant must be at least 10th standard pass and should have working
knowledge in simple English so as to read the names of the stations and the
value of tickets. For this, the copy of educational qualification certificate must be
submitted along with the application.
4) Applicant must submit along with the application a copy of Medical certificate by
Registered Medical Practitioner showing that he/she is fit for active service
and free from any communicable disease.
5) Any application received without any one or more of the above required
documents will be rejected summarily without any back reference.
6) All the documents in original in support of the above conditions should be
produced before the Selection Committee when called for.
7) The Applicant must not hold contract for any other Halt Station. However, the
existing contractor of the same Halt station is eligible to apply and Existing
contractor of any other Halt station whose contract will expire within 90 days
from the Last Date of submission of application as specified in the Expression of
Interest Notice will also be eligible to apply.
8) The selected candidate will have to remit prescribed amount of Security Deposit
(refundable without interest after expiry of contract) before engagement as Halt Contractor.
9) Antecedent of the selected candidate will be verified and in case of any adverse
report candidature will be rejected outrightly.
10) Contract shall be for five (05) years which may be extended by another five (05)
years in spell of 2½ years at a time subject to satisfactory performance of Halt
Contractor and Railways dues paid in time. The Halt Contractor shall maintain
cleanliness at the halt station without any remuneration. The selected candidate
will have to execute an agreement.
11) The application duly filled in as per format along with the copies of documents
should be submitted in a seal cover superscribing “Application for Halt
Contractor at Gaurdahar Halt station” to The Divisional Railway Manager
(Commercial), Room No. 44, Eastern Railway, Sealdah, Pin-700014 within 14:00
hours on 19.10.2023 or sent by Registered Post so as to reach the above
mentioned office within 14:00 hours on 19.10.2023. If the application does not
reach, due to any reason, within the stipulated date and time, it will not be
accepted at all.
12) The selection will be by draw of lots, drawn by any child if there is more than
one eligible candidate. All the eligible candidates will be advised the date, time
and venue of the draw through Courier /Regd. Post so that they may attend the
draw, if they so desire.
13) Commission will be paid to the Halt Contractor as under:-
Sales turn over Commission Payable
1/- to 15,000/- 15% (Minimum – Rs.1000/-).
15,001/- to 50,000/- 12%
50,001/- to 1,00,000/- 09%
1,00,001/- to 2,00,000/- 06%.
2,00,001/- and above 03%.
14) The selection of Halt Contractor will be purely contractual in nature and no
facilities, viz. absorption in Railway service, regularization of service, bonus,
Railway pass facilities etc. shall accrue to the Halt Contractor.
15) The Railway Administration reserves the right to cancel the selection
proceedings at any time and under any circumstances without showing any
reasons thereof.
