RECRUITMENT OF SPECIAL OFFICER (SECURITY) IN WBSETCL ON
CONTRACT BASIS
COMPANY’S PROFILE
West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (WBSETCL) is the State
Transmission Utility (STU) of West Bengal and presently owns and operates total 156 nos. of
Sub-Stations in different classes from 66 kV to 400 kV with total installed capacity of
39805.36 MVA. It is the constant endeavour of WBSETCL to ensure grid stability across the
State of West Bengal as well as in the Eastern Region of the Nation and have always
maintained the system availability of more than 99.91%. In order to provide quality power
and stable voltage to each and every corner of West Bengal, WBSETCL has laid transmission
line network of 16311 ckm and constantly expanding the same. The Company has also
restricted transmission losses to 2.31 % during the year 2022-23 which is below the
normative limits, as prescribed by the Regulator.
WBSETCL, one of the leading Transmission Utility in the country, strives to become the
most reliable and economical power transmission system in the country with the highest
system availability, maintaining quality power with minimum technical losses.
Since its incorporation, WBSETCL has been making profit consistently. Its Annual Turnover
of Rs. 2079 Crore in the Financial Year 2022-23. It is the recipient of several prestigious
awards including IPPAI award for Best State Transmission Utility- 2023, the SKOCH award-
2023, the PRCI award for Vidyut Barta-2023.
In today’s world technology is very dynamic and constantly changing at a lightning speed
which is having an immense impact on Power Transmission Utilities. Therefore, in order to
maintain its existing position amongst the STU across the nation and to thrive for future
growth, the Company takes every necessary measure to abreast itself with latest available
technology to fulfil its envisioned goal. Operational excellence is achieved through adoption
of “state-of-the-art” operation and maintenance techniques, including proactive and
preventive breakdown maintenance which includes modern technique of condition
monitoring which are at par with international standards. The Company offers professional
work environment with modern technology & system. The Company is in the process of
modernizing and updating its activities with IT enabled services.
WBSETCL is setting a new benchmark for itself by keeping the standards high towards
achievement of the goals and working had so as to stand and keep up the expectations
towards fulfilment of the commitments of not only ‘Transmitting Power’
MODE OF SELECTION:
Selection will be made on the basis of performance in the Personal Interview only. The
Interview will be held at Vidyut Bhavan, Saltlake, Kolkata on a suitable date with prior
information to all the eligible candidates.

Application format can be downloaded from the Company’s website www.wbsetcl.in on
and from 11.10.2023. Interested eligible candidates shall submit the filled in Application
Form along with the self-attested copies of certificates/ documents as proof of identity
(Voter’s Card/PAN Card/AADHAAR Card), proof of age (birth certificate/Admit
Card/Certificate of Secondary Examination), proof of educational qualification, proof of
experience, Release Order from the last employer on superannuation, Pension payment
Order (PPO) and two passport size photographs to the General Manager (HR & A),
Training, Planning & Allied Services, WBSETCL, Vidyut Bhavan, 8th Floor, D-Block,
Sector-II, Block-DJ, Bidhannagar, Kolkata - 700091 on or before 08.11.2023. The
envelope should be superscripted as
“APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF SPECIAL
OFFICER (SECURITY)”.
No other mode of submission of Application is allowed.
